WHAT PROGRAMS WILL YOU OFFER FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON?
This season City will offer premier teams that will participate in the competitive SCVA/PVL tournament circuit. Team coaching assignments, training schedules days/times, tournament information, and player fees will be sent to registered try-out participants the weekend of their respective tryout session.
Please note tryouts are closed to parent viewing.
HOW MANY TEAMS WILL CITY BE FIELDING FOR THE 2020-2021?
For the 2020-2021 season, CITY will field a lower number of teams than originally planned. The number of teams has not been decided upon, and will be determined after we hold our September Pre-Tryout Camps and Try-outs. We will create our SCVA/PVL teams and possibly Non-Travel/Training teams. Along with the majority of volleyball clubs across the country, our main challenge right now is extremely limited gym space. With COVID forcing the closures of both private and public schools, we do not currently have access to many of our regularly utilized facilities. We are hopeful that public health will continue to trend in the right direction and schools/facilities will open up and allow for training to resume in those locations.
WHERE WILL CITY TRAIN FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON?
CITY is extremely lucky to be able to utilize the CRUNCH Gym in Chatsworth as its training home. There are 2 courts, clean and sanitary bathrooms, and the ability to implement all COVID protocols. We are hopeful that public health will continue to trend in the right direction and schools/facilities will open and allow for training to resume. CITY will also utilize sand and outdoor training.
WHEN ARE TRYOUTS FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON?
15 and Older Age Group: September 19th Makeups by Appt.
14 and Under Age Group: October 3rd Makeup Tryouts by Appt.
All tryouts are by appointment and players must register online.
NO WALK INS ALLOWED.
HOW WILL CITY HANDLE ANY POTENTIAL SHUTDOWNS OR CANCELATIONS DUE TO COVID?
CITY Volleyball Club will have a No Worries Policy for 2020-2021. Your peace of mind is important to us. The CITY training season will remain active and will cease trainings only when mandated to do so by the County or State. Because of the possibility of these mandates over the course of the season, we have developed a refund/cancellation policy that ensures you will be refunded portions of your season fees should State/County Covid-19 mandate a shut down of youth sports activities or closures of gyms. We will also be collecting only the first 3 months of player fees up front so that we may reevaluate the current conditions and guidelines on January 1, 2021.
WILL CITY CONTINUE TO HAVE COVID PROTOCOLS IN PLACE FOR ALL TRAININGS?
CITY Volleyball Club is committed to the continued health and well-being of our athletes, families and coaches. Policies and protocols that meet or exceed CDC and the State of California health recommendations will continue to be in place. CITY’s measures in place to combat COVID-19 include: masks on at all times for participants and staff, court-specific numbered balls, stable groups, thorough floor and ball cleaning after every session, and enforcing social distancing.
WHAT WILL PRACTICE SCHEDULES LOOK LIKE ?
During the competitive season this year (October-June) teams practice generally 2-3 times per week and play in tournaments 1- 2 weekends per month. This year for our 15 and older groups, the CIF High School Season and the Club Season will run simultaneously. Practice schedules will be adjusted during the winter months in order to make it possible for all CITY players to participate in both seasons, which we encourage.
